ARA acquires Metalbilt and Danks
ARA has secured the future of two leading door manufacturing businesses in New Zealand.
Effective 31 January 2019, ARA will acquire Metalbilt Doors and Danks Roller Doors businesses. Metalbilt and Danks are both leading door brands with over 60 years of experience in the manufacturing, installation and servicing of a wide range of commercial and industrial doors across New Zealand.
ARA’s recent acquisition of Metalbilt and Danks has ensured continuous employment for 60 staff in branches across Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, as well as uninterrupted service for customers. Metalbilt and Danks’ parent company was forced into voluntary administration in December 2018.
Geoff Willis, General Manager of Metalbilt and Danks, was pleased with the result of the purchase: “It’s great that the business can continue uninterrupted and that staff have security”, he said. “We also look forward to being able to expand our services to customers by accessing ARA’s broader range of offerings in Australia. We have had a long association with the Founders of ARA, who have an in-depth understanding of the door industry in both New Zealand and Australia”.
For ARA, this latest acquisition represents continued growth in New Zealand, as well as the growth of ARA Manufacture’s presence in the commercial and industrial door industry.
ARA first expanded into New Zealand in 2017 with ARA’s Security division now operating in the North Island. “As New Zealand’s largest commercial and industrial door companies, Metalbilt and Danks are a great addition to our existing New Zealand business”, Edward Federman, Managing Director of ARA, said of the acquisition. “Metalbilt and Danks will also be a great partner with the ARA Manufacture business in Australia”, he said. “I was previously associated with the businesses more than 20 years ago, so this is a meaningful addition to ARA on a very personal level”.
As we look forward to the expansion of ARA service offerings in New Zealand, ARA welcomes Geoff Willis and the teams at Metalbilt and Danks.
